If you know anything about me, you know I LOVE WordPress! I also LOVE, LOVE developing on Genesis by StudioPress, which is owned by the powerhouse WordPress hosting company, WP Engine. I have had the opportunity to speak on WordPress optimization in the past with the brilliant David Vogelpohl so faster than he could say “WordPress Conference” I said, “Yes, Please”!
Then I found out my topic and who I was would be speaking alongside and I was super pumped! I mean check out my all-star panel! Loren Baker and Rebecca Gill! Our session was covering SEO considerations for your Development Workflow. I was able to cover the things I look for when I am auditing a WordPress website.
On top of my powerhouse panel pals, I was geeking out over all of the other sessions and speakers that were planned throughout the day. I had trouble pulling myself away to get ready to be on camera for my session because they were so good!
Of course, the day started out with the one, the only, Joost de Valk, the founder of Yoast. In case you are living under a rock, Yoast is the #1 top plugin for WordPress SEO, along with other popular CMS’s. On top of that, Joost was speaking on one of my favorite topics, Schema!
Not long after that, Alain Schlesser presented on using WP-CLI so I was in full-blown geek-out mode. WP-CLI has made my life working with WordPress tremendously easier. I will never perform Search and Replace directly in the database ever again.
Probably the best part of DE{CODE} was the fact that it was a virtual conference online and absolutely free to attend! Even more exciting is the fact that even though it has passed, you can still register and watch the sessions at your leisure.
